Title: Rods too lubed?

Are there any guidelines around the tension of rods. For instance, how easy should it be for a ball to go past a man when the player is not holding the the rod. I've had people tell me that the rod is too lubed if the ball can move the man out of the way. Thoughts on this?

The rods can not be too "smooth"  the problem with over lubricating is getting lube on table and ball which you do not want.  If your playing 1 on 1 have feet tilted forward to block ball on goalie rods.
