replacing cotton in the inner spring

Hello,

Do you know what type of cotton do I have to put in the inner spring and where to buy some?
I had to remove them to clean the spring, and because they are in a very good shape I don't need to buy new springs. However, Bonzini doesn't sell the cotton itself but with the spring, so I am looking for a way to replace them without having to buy a full spring.
Cheers
Nico

Maybe you could take an old piece of the cotton (or whatever material it is) to a fabric store and see if you can match the thickness and density. Maybe something like "wool felt"? Sorry I can't be of more help!

It's not cotton.
It's a rectangular piece of wool.
If you push the rod toward the wall and the man sounds like it makes contact with the wall, then the compression in the spring has diminished and needs to be replace, otherwise you will "mushroom" the end of the internal rod over time.
