First table - Tornado 3000
« on: May 04, 2017, 01:42:54 AM »
I was scouring craigslist for a few days and happened upon a used Tornado 3000 a few hours north of me. I was kind of budgeting around $600 but didn't mind paying a bit more for a better quality or coin-op model. Spoke with the seller and he seemed legitimate and the condition looked good in the pictures. I had a relative that lived a few minutes away and was able to pick it up for me sight unseen.

Hopefully I did well getting it for $1000. It also came with the overhead light. I'm picking it up from my relatives next week...anything I should double check or maintenance on it before rough play proceeds?

From what I can see in the pictures you bought it from an actual player, which usually means it was taken care of.  You should be psyched to pick it up for $1000.  Well done!

Congratulations equalme on getting that awesome deal!

For maintenance, I think the list below will be enough, but if anyone else has more things to add, please feel free to do so.

1. Is the table level?
2. Do the rods slide in and out easily? (+ do the rods spin easily)
3. Are the legs not wobbly?
4. Are the rods bent?
5. Are the tabletop and balls clean enough to not interrupt gameplay?

Have fun with your table!

From the pics, it looks like you got a pretty damn good deal. Congrats!!

If I had to guess, I'd say that's a 2011 T-3. 2011 was the year I really saw the quality come back to the table. Solid table, if so.

I got a 2011 T-3000 and it's better it plays and feels better than the ones that came after. Not only I say it but my foos player friends that come over say the same thing and some of them own 2016 T-3000s. So congrats on your table. By the way you can add ton of weight in the cabinet and make it heavier than a coin up.
