Title: Foosball-: Medical- musculoskeletal problems?
Post by: tturgut on February 28, 2015, 09:38:56 AM
Does repetitive movement cause any musculoskeletal medical problems for long term? (carpal tunnel, arthritis of wrists, micro fractures , tenosynovitis etc?)

How do competitive players do after age 40-50? They may have more problems.

This snake shot does not appear to be healthy (when done thousands of times especially) ..Glove or a wrist band may be necessary to protect the wrist.

I am not sure. Foosball may be neutral, harmful  or may be even helpful  for some medical problems) for the wrist and fingers. probably good technique is fine for the wrists, but improper technique may cause long term problems.

No doubt, it affects some more than others.  Todd still has an effective pull apparently without pain.  I'm quite a bit older than he is and I have no pain.  I've got friends who have switched to the snake because of pain in their wrists.  I have other friends who have quite foosball all together because of pain.  I don't know of any snake shooters who complain of wrist pain other than the break in period where they have worn blisters in their wrist.
