Long before Americans fell pray to plastic men and plastic balls there was:







These are some pictures from 1971. I just received them from my friend, Mr. John Hayes who was a foosball legend in Virginia Beach at the time. These rare photos are just a glimpse from the past when foosball was the rage. A good look at the poster shows that the winner of the tournament recieved tickets to the Virginia Squires vs Carolina Cougars ABA game.

It's hard to describe the feeling of what it was like to discover foosball back then. I began playing 3 years after these photos were taken. The legend of John Hayes and his accomplishments were still going around the mid-Atlantic when I began.
