Ghetto counterweighted men

This topic came up back in April.  I just balanced the men on my Tornado Twister and it worked out great - this is how.  I put about $15 and 8 hours into the project, though I could do it in 1/2 the time if I did it again.  Bottom-line: A good idea if you are cheap and have the time and tools.

Do all these steps with the men installed in the table:

Drill 1/2 in diameter holes in the tops of the nuggets, about 5/8 in deep.  Start with a 1/4 in brad-point bit, then go to 1/2.  Use a battery-powered drill, *not* a corded drill.  You have to be able to go *very* slowly.

Drop in 5/8 oz lead.  Use 2x 1/4 oz egg sinkers (flattened to just under 1/2 in diam) + 1x 1/8 oz sinker also flattened.  Hold them on end with needle-nose pliers and pound them with a hammer.  Test fit them in a 1/2 in hole - *don't* go too far, its a pain to reverse.  Hot glue the weights into the men, to avoid any rattles.

Fill the holes with plastic repair epoxy putty, then shave clean.

Perfectly balanced and plays solidly.  Only they all look like they're wearing yarmulkes.
