New RP Owner
« on: July 15, 2019, 08:14:16 PM »
Hi there,
Been lurking a while and finally bought a RP last weekend. Like many, I use to play in college (UNCW early 90's)  and always wanted a table but never had the space or time. I live in Kentucky now and these things are like Hen's Teeth. Anyway, found one for $100- needs lots of work but mostly complete???  I was reading a thread about a restoration but it seems all the photobucket pics have been removed.  I  want to make the table function as intended but not an uber resto - any pointers welcome.

Is the serial number hidden somewhere? The only thing I can find is "Peabody's INC" underneath the RP that is engraved on an end piece. Thanks- Adam

Pics don't work. Use Imgur to post them. Congrats on the table.

Cool table. I have a similar one that is also a project in the works. Parts are not easy to find but it is possible. Measure and see if you have 14 or 15 mm rods. 14mm parts are much more common. Otherwise just time and elbow grease should have it playing again.

CONGRATS!!  AWESOME FIND!  Looks a little rough, but it looks legit with the right cutouts.  Take your time to make it original and you will have a masterpiece to play on!

Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for the encouragement.  Just bought some calipers last night (don't revoke my man card for not having any lol) and I have 15mm rods. So are handles going to be a Beach ? Is there a goto parts guru with NOS stuff?  The rods seem to rub against the spring on the bearing- seems like there is alot of play, like the ID of the bearing is larger than the OD of the rod...worn out?  Looks like some stuff can be ordered from RP France , but shipping is Stupid.

My shopping list: Gerflex, Bearings?, Key, Coin OP Mech and internal arm, Felt (or whatever they were) washers for the inner rod base plate,   4 Handles (and the knowledge how to remove), Misc Screws and Bolts, 1/5 Bourbon

I don't expect any to do the work or research for me - but if you have any quick pointers, sure would appreciate them.

Thanks,
Adam

Try member JSS...look for his contact info (cell number) in this thread:
http://foosball.com/forum/index.php?topic=6321.0

I have a Rene Pierre blue top table that I bought a bunch of parts for from him--leg bolts, skeleton key for lock, coin box, coin mechanism etc.  I understand he is now making handles for the 14 and 15mm rods  (another thread on here somewhere)

He is a good guy...does what he says he will.  I've sent a check through mail a couple times and got the parts straight away...

Good luck!
