Tornado Storm
« on: July 15, 2010, 09:08:58 PM »

I am going to look at a Tornado foosball table to use until I have the funds for a coin op T-3000, and I was told it is a Storm. They sent me a picture it has end ball returns with the black and grey marble cabinet. They say it's in new condition was hardly ever used and are asking $150 for it. I guess my general question is if that is a good price and what to look for when I go there to inspect it.

Thank you

how much do you have to spend...there is no sense in buying one of the entry level mass market tables when you can get a coin-op used for $350-$600...the storm is a terrible table, i have played on one they have at my church...I won't take the time to go into all the details but trust me, it isn't worth $150 even if it was brand new and not just because I am picky, it isn't a good table

if a Tor coin op is a 10 on a scale of 1-10, ten being world class, the Storm is a 1 to 1.5, no joke

have you read this thread?

you don't have to read the entire thread, this is old but it is still relevant...it needs a few updates but nothing that will impact your decision most likely since you would be buying an older table

Fireball is slowly rolling out and you can get a top level home modle from them for about $700 brand new and I have a good friend whos played on one last weeka and says the table is the real deal, super good in too many ways for me to list right now

New-condition, hardly used for $150? I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

you wouldn't be able to stand playing on it for long, its really terrible, set up, bumpers, lose and shakey, rod movement....its a waste of money to throw 150 after something that will kill the desire to play foosball for 9 out of 10 people ... if you are going to make an investment, why not scronge up $400 and get a table that will last the rest of your life, play as good as any table can play, and very likely could be passed on to your kids when they are grown with families

I ended up getting it for $120 and it's in new condition. Was dust on it some spider eggs up underneath, but other then that it was a really nice table.

I'll keep you posted on the T-3000 When we get ready to buy it.

Good call on picking that table up for $120. The play is definitely inferior to a coin-op but I have done the same thing in buying a home model first. Pro players have played on my table (cyclone II) and said how much they liked it! Granted the storm has different bearings and other stuff but if cleaned well and lubed well it will be a good tool to learn on! When you decide to get a coin-op toy can sell your storm for probably twice what you paid for it!

no comparrison between the Storm and the Cyclone except the table surface color, the shape and color of the men, the handles, and that they are both made by Tornado...oh yea, and they both have an opening at each end of the table to score into
 :D  ;D
I have played on Cyclone II many times and
If the Coin-op were 100 the Cyclone would be 85%-90% of that...
If the Cyclone was 100 the Storm would be 40%-50% of that...
And last if the Coin-op were 100 the Storm would be 20%-30% of that.
