Any help finding a table?
« on: January 04, 2013, 09:58:10 PM »
I am very new to foosball and I am looking for a good used Tornado, preferably a coin op. Anyone here know where to look other than craigslist. I am located in NC, north of Durham. I looked through previous post and most on here put the coin op value is less than 500.  I would jump on that if I could find one local.

If you are looking to find a coin-op for ~$500 your best bet is craigslist. Charles Macintosh is near Greensboro and he usually has slightly used, newer coin-ops but I believe these will be closer to $1,000 (http://www.tornadofoosball.com/TornadoFoosballTables.html).

Be patient, get one of those craigslist apps for your smart phone that alerts you whenever a new listing appears, and you will find a good local coin-op for a good price. Might take a couple of months, and expand your range to however far you are willing to drive, but you will find one.

I missed a Storm II in excellent condition for 280 this morning on craigslist. Didnt stay long. I think I would have been satisfied with that. Hopefully something will come up.

Yeah, I saw that one, too. Might want to aim a little higher. Once you get up to Cyclone/Elite level you get the same rods, bearings, men, etc. as the coin ops. If $500 for a coin-op is your goal, you WILL find one.

Is 975 unreasonable for a 1 year old elite?

It's much more than I would pay, and to be honest, I'd hold out for a coin-op. If you can be patient (and I know that's not always possible) you will find a really nice one for much less than that. They weigh about 100lbs more than an Elite, which translates into durability and stability. Have you seen this thread?

Not sure if you are still looking but this popped up on CL. Gray marble coin-op for $500.
