Newbie needs to get some balls
« on: January 24, 2013, 12:35:16 PM »
Hello, new to the forum, but have been lurking a while.

I bought a used Tornado split cabinet non-coinop  table a few months ago with dark woodgrain laminate. I found out that this is a TP 2000 from Tornado. I also found out from this forum that it is the fastest tornado table made.

So I have the original pink balls , but they are really slick at this point. I was planning to buy some new balls, and found so many options I was wondering which I should try on this table. Obviously, my list has started with the red 5 hour tumbled tornado balls, since it is a tornado table. Since there are so many, I thought maybe a small assortment to try out might be a good idea.

Any suggestions?

I just got my set of balls in the other day. Their the pink official Tornado balls, good control and fast. Where ever you order them from watch the shipping charge, it varies a lot.

I suggest using tornadofoosball.com or this site. Better to support other foosers/promoters IMO.

tornadofoosball.com is where i bought all my stuff. But be aware that their UPS shipping charge is over ten dollars even if you buy one ball for 2.99. Didn't matter to me because of all the bearings, ball and accessories. The shipping charge was still 10 dollars. One of the items that I bought had a flaw in it. Talked to Charles there, he told me to keep it and they would send me a new one at no charge. In that aspect they have my business.

Good points. So should I go with an assortment of various balls (ie warrior yellow, shelti yellow/orange, ets) or just grab some of the tornado balls, maybe mix up pink and red? Or just stick with one or the other?

If it was me I'd stick to just one make of balls. Preferably the tornado ball if your playing on a tornado table. I play with the pink ones, can't recall if I've played with the red ones. Just my opinion. Maybe some of the other guys on here could tell you which balls are sanctioned for tournament play. Good luck with the game...jeff

Good question...I'll know soon enough. I already have pinks, so I ordered reds, along with warrior and the bonzini yellow cork.

Bonzini cork balls are unique and fun to mess around with, but you may want to try the ITSF B-ball.

Thanks for the idea. How much different is the b-ball from the yellow cork balls?
