It's cool that you posted this. Seeing several versions of the TS tables brings back some old memories. From a collectible standpoint, the green top Quarter Million tables are the oldest and generally rarest of the 3 colors. The blue top that has the brown top (men with hats) solid color men shows what some people did when the newer color (TS changed color patterns every 2-3 years, and were only around for 7) brown top came out. Instead of buying a new brownie, they just replaced the men and handles (the brown tops had the fat, oversized handles) on the blue top (maybe even some older greenies) to stay current with what was being used at tournaments. Also, one of the rarest combinations to find would be a blue top with a quarter million dollar logo on it as the newer million dollar logo was introduced shortly after the blue top came out and a few blues had the older logo. With the heavy solid rods and many other differences, they play nothing like a Tornado, but if you have room and want to try something that is still fun, and old TS at a good price is a good option.

It has been a while since I posted here on this fourm, but I figured there were some older foosball players that maybe interested in some of the older TS tables.  I have a quater million dollar foosball table but it isn't a Coin Op. I haven't got a response from Ullrich, sixteen days have past and it seem that they wont response at all to my inquiries. I just wanted to know exactly how much I need to save. It's frustrating. I was about to buy and old Dynamo table with the Tornado like men, but every time I am about to see the table something happens and I end up having a horrible day and no time to check it up. I guess the Foosball gods are against me buying the Dynamo table.

That's why I got excited about these TS tables. But I still have a question regarding quality of the TS tables. Are they really good quality wise? I read they were more in to promoting tournaments with big cash prizes than improving the quality of the tables. "They where in for the money" I read.

Tournament Soccer tables were never known for being of high quality construction or materials. Actually, their planned obsolescence was part of the strategy to get many businesses to buy new tables every 2-3 years. Now, if you can find one in decent shape and don't expose it to the abuse it would see in a bar setting, you should be able to have a lot of fun with one.

I have a feeling the folks at Ullrich have been busy with the P4P event, hopefully when it's over this Sunday the following week they can respond. I've tried brown top Million Dollar Tournament table and compare to the German style tables now they falls in short. With all respects the the 70's and 80's  TS players and the tables used in that  era. There's only one table that has stood the test of time and that's Bonzini.But be patient with the folks at Ullrich...

A TS Brown Top is a lot of fun to play on, but the men break so often that you have to have a complete set of replacement men just to be prepared for the inevitable. Sorry to say it because I really loved my old Brown Top, but they were not built to last and I would be hesitant to buy an old vintage TS without trying it out first. The Blue Top was a one year (1977) transition model between the Green and Brown Top tables. My regular doubles partner bought a new Blue Top and when they changed the table the very next year he was understandably pissed.

Yeah thanks for posting these, I really like seeing what else is out there and seeing classic tables. I havent seen a table like this since I was 12 or so and im 23 now......................Mine was very similar to this, and I still have yet to forgive my older brother for selling it to one of his buddies for $100! we uest to play on that table every night! What a beauty!

Hey Speeddemon,

I did some checking after replying to your PM. I said cherry but after looking at the blue top TS catalog they were actually 'rosewood' cabinets. Also, the blue tops came out early in 1977 and the first brown top tournament was in Portland in Sept 78. The blue tops were around for about 20 months.

You mentioned TS only made the Bluetop for 20 months. Did the cabinet style change during that time? I have 3 bluetops and 1 of them has the slanted legs and a slightly different cabinet design. All 3 are coin-op. I would be interested to find a catalogue of all the TS tables ever available. Pipe dream, I'm sure.
