Hi, so glad I found y'all. Today I bought a Tornado coin op in fair to poor condition. The first thing I need to do is get some new rods and men. The ones on it are just rusty and ugly.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get the best / cheapest parts for this thing?

Also any good threads on changing them out?

Changing rods is as basic as you can get. Hammer out the pins in each man with a punch. Loosen bearings and off they come. Do the reverse to put it back together. FYI changing rods is one of the most expensive things you can do on one of these tables so make sure you aren't throwing good money after bad. Depending on your area, it might be cheaper to buy a different table than to replace all the rods.

Im with AT on putting new rods on an old table. Probably not a great money move. Rods are like $350, a set of guys is $120. Your looking at $500 for this and a few balls/bearings/bumpers.

Try scrubbing it up good. Use 91% iso alcohol on all surfaces and scrub hard. If bars are rusted, remove them and try naval jelly (research this part... may remove a coating if rods are coated). If a couple bars are bent bad you can buy individual bars. Buy only what you need to make it playable and if something better pops up to buy then go for it.

If bars are just rusty, try wadded up aluminum foil with a little water as lube.
