They will play very similarly, especially if you're not a pro/expert. Older tables will probably have:
- wooden handles instead of new plastic handles - wraps can solve this (~$60 for 8 new handles)
- white ramped side strips instead of new clear flat playfield side strips - ball does not hop up as much coming off the wall, easier wall passes/bank shots (~$30 easy fix)
- thicker bearings instead of newer thinner bearings updated to better defend wall passes (~$50 for a full set of bearings)
- slightly different guy foot style, new style have sharper corners (this can be expensive about $6 per guy but you really do not need to update them or can just update shooting rods
