Here is link to the rules.

http://www.table-soccer.org/rules/documents/ITSF_rules_english.pdf

Here are some changes

7.3 If the ball shall leave the table it will be put back into play at the two-man rod of the team who did not have the last possession during play. (See Rule 24 regarding Possession) Play shall resume using the “Ready” Protocol (Rule 4.1).

7.4 A player may not perform any shot that causes the ball to lob or volley over the opponent’s rods (Example: Aerial Shot). It is not considered a penalty if a shot, which leaves the current rod of possession, deflects off another rod and then goes airborne.

7.5 Penalty for violating rule 7.4 is loss of possession to opponents five man rod for serve

8.2 If the ball is declared dead between the goal and five-man rods, it shall be put back into play at the two-man rod nearest the spot of the dead ball. Play shall resume using the “Ready” Protocol (Rule 4.1).

I think they might consider a new rule allowing the a rod to go an extra 90 degrees past the 360.  i.e.- a controled spin.  This could allow push/pulls to be a bit more diverse.  After all, isn't a snake shot nothing more than a spin that falls just short of 360?  It's a controled spin isn't it?  I believe the original purpose of the rule was to eliminate the wreckless spinning of a rod.  I wouldn't mind seeing a poll on this.  Just a thought, nothing meant to start an argument.  I just think that it might allow for a new array of shots to come into the game.
