Second shot and or tired shot?..
« on: February 01, 2008, 03:18:34 AM »
What shot do you shoot when your hand gets tired or your kill shot isnt effective... most people im running into go in-between the snake and the pull.. In my tournament on wed.. I was bricking a guy who shot a pull then went to a push kick..well more of a push kick spray.. which was surprising to me.. I can usually block a pull...a snake..back pin..but the push kick is a little tuff for me.. what do you guys go to for your second shot..what should I expect most of the time? Or am I expecting the unexpected

Unfortuneatly your right about the pull/rollover combination.  Currently Tornado is not a very flexable table when it come to shot selections.   My third choice is a pushkick as well.  On Woman players it is my 1st choice! But Shhhhh, it's a secret that they can't block one. :)  I have been fortunate enough to play with Tommy Adkissin a couple of times, he will alternate between the rollover and pull from match to match. Very few times have I seen him break rythm and shoot the same shot two matches in a roll.  He does though, mostly when he knows who he is playing and feels they block one shot better than the other.

Wouldn't it be great if Tornado would bring back some of our lost shots?

i shoot a rollover and a pull, but i find that when im getting nowhere or wanna keep him on his toes I use a rolling dead man pull...Ill let the ball get to about the middle or one dot closer near side and if hes set up right go quick dead rod pull......I read where Todd L. said that learning the skill of pulls while on the roll is one of the progressions in developing a deadly pull shot....I have a friend who has been teaching me and all he shoots is pushkick and that same rolling dead man shot......his rolling deadman is dead on and lethal....
