Congratulations Mr. Anderson
« on: July 26, 2010, 12:12:45 PM »
Congratulations to Mark Anderson ( "Anderson" here in the foosball.com forums) for his first place showing in Open Doubles event this past weekend at the South Carolina Foosfest!  Great playing Mark (and Jim Corbett, his partner, as well). Striaght through the winners bracket, and no dips in the finals (darn it!)

Thanks Pat. It means a lot coming from you. You played great as well, and for all of you out there that doubt it, Pat has a phenomenal slide pull that he can cut back behind you on Bonzini. Randy called BS but he was wrong. I actually scouted you Pat, in fact I was told about your cut back ahead of time. Didn't matter in the third game of the finals though. I think you hit 4 on me in that game. You also shut me down in that match and made my partner carry me through to the win. Next time I'll go to my push from back. It wasn't working early on, but I got it working in the limited. I sent my check to Phil express mail today, so I'll be getting that Fireball table in August. Can't wait. Hope to see you in Garner when we throw our tournament.

This is something I've really learned to enjoy in this game, talent and respect for it. You guys posting like this is exactly how I felt about some of my matches at the Washington State Open this weekend. I had an absolute war with this guy, Bob Cassity aka the Assassin. If there is a faster harder PUSH shot in the county I want to witness the sound as that is the only way to measure the difference, you don't see it,,,I find myself, in these mature years, just enjoying the skills out there, just wonderful! So I like hearing how it went for you and the mutual respect, too cool!

Way to go Mark. ;)

I heard it was a great tournament event.
Hate I had to miss it.
Looking at the results and attendance, it seems to have been a very competitive tournament.

Looks like we're building up to a great NC State Foosball Championship in October.

Later,
