There's nothing central about vegas at all. Although since the tournament runs until such an absurd hour it makes sense to have it in a city like vegas where everything is open all the time.
Bring it back to Chicago then, where the old big-time tournaments at or near the ole Sears center had some really great turnouts! O'Hare is a major hub, and so is Midway nowadays. That city doesn't sleep either with lots of things to do and go to.. Somewhere up and down the "avenue" or LSD (Lake Shore Drive for the "iggies"..)... Plus I can crash at my brother's in Lincoln Square, right next to Linkin' Pahk'... or at my aunt's off the Loop.
Another place might be St Louis, in the middle of the midwest "Iron Cross" ... but do they still play foos there?
But seriously, they're at the confluence of several major arteries and their airport isn't any slouch either... PLUS THEY GOT BEEEEER..... What is it now, Anheuser-Busch-Keebler-Firestone or something? Or did Oprah just buy it all?
Plus we have to make sure which Worlds we're talkin' bout. Valley-Tornado-Brunswick-Sam'-Costco worlds ? Or is it going to be Mary's IFP-Warrior worlds? Coz I'm pretty sure she cased this past one, and probably made contact if not arrangements with one or more of the other (what is it, two or three other casinos in Vegas?) places and can easily run her own sumpin-sumtin' there next year, if not sooner.... Only each player can watch their progress in the bracket, not just tournament pit matches or results or recalls, online in their room ... probably on their G3 phone too.
And hopefully, maybe, that emotionless robot voice can make sure that the best, most fantastic late matches, especially world class matches, arent played between 3am and 6am in the morning everywhere. How can one be sure all four players or two players in an open final or even a loser's final will be playing even close to their best to showcase foosball to the world when they're playing past even after-hours club hours?
Top pro tour billiards and pool players have to be there for their match-times or forfeit, whether for TV or not, and even Tiger Woods and Lefty have to make their match tee times or scratch, for chrissake!!! Why are some proMaster players allowed to be primadonnas and decide what time they'll be playing? Are they superstars on the level of Tiger or Nadal or Federer?
