Hi Sabotaged,
I can think of only 2 explanations.
1. The table has (I don't know the right term) "skirting-board". This provides some slope at the sides of the board and it helps the ball to get back in the field and not get stuck at the wall. I play on Roberto-training table and it has these "skirting-boards" and when I shoot the bank-shots the ball when hits the "skiting-board" it flies off the table or hits the rods. But when I play on Roberto-Adrenaline (it does not have such obstacles) the bank-shots fly directly into the goal. To score a bank-shot on table with skiting-board you should get both the direction and the speed right. And generally it's much harder to execute bank effectively.
2. If the table does not have such "skiting-board" then you are setting the ball behind the rod. Thus when you shoot the ball it goes slightly up in the air (for me it's about 1/2 cm - just enough to hit the "head" of my own 5 rod when they're turned upside-down). To correct this you should set the ball slightly in front of the rod.
Happy banking,
