Topic: Is this 2r to 5r pass legal?

My opponent has ball in his goal area & advances the ball into my goal area where it is moving & has been in continuous movement since he shot it. I tap that moving ball ,using only one figure, to my 5r & catch it there. Legal or illegal Pass? thank you.

Legal.

Remember the key is whether you ever stopped or pinned the ball upon its entering your goal & 2bar area.  Since you clearly state that the ball is moving, and never stopped or pinned, then any pass or shot from your goal rod or 2bar to anywhere outside your goal & 2bar area is legal.

If you happen to roll the ball with the front (contact on the back of the figure's toe) or the rear (contact on the front of the figure's toe) and exert enough friction to reverse the direction of the ball, that would be a pinned ball, equivalent to a stopped ball, which would require hitting a 2nd figure, on either the goal or 2bar rod, before being allowed to catch a released ball with your 5bar.

Ok, so ball is stopped in goalie zone.  Just like 5 to 3 pass ,ball must touch 2nd man & be moving for legal 2 to 5 pass (except for unlimited walls from goalie area & 15 sec Vs. 2 walls max & 10  sec from 5)  Anyhow. tic tack clearly keeps ball moving although physically it must stop momentarily during change of direction-no violation, yet a quickly walked ball front or back pnned changing direction(& admittedly stopping momentarily like in the tic tack) is suspect.  It seems the real only difference is foot side touches during tic tack & foot front or back touches during the moving pin walk. Clarification/,  Judgement call?

The moment you pin (including walking the ball) the ball with the front or back of a playing figure toe, that is REGARDED as a STOPPED BALL.  Stopping the ball with the sides of the figure's toe starts a second after ball has stopped moving in any direction, even if it is spinning like a top in place.  To pass a stopped ball (qualifying under any of the above conditions, without hitting an opposing figure), only one(1) bar, either Goal area to 5bar (2-to-5), or the familiar 5 to 3 pass, another figure must be touched in the originating area (Goal area or in possession at the 5) before it can be advanced.

Of course these only apply to successfully trapped or caught passes.  And you can shoot from any figure on your rods at any time.  Only when it's inadvertently caught (successfully) at the 5 or 3 during a shot do the above descriptions suddenly apply again.  Only difference seems to be the 3 walls limit for a 5 to 3 pass.  No limits on walls in the Goal area.
