Topic: What is on the side walls of your foosball table?

I just bought an old Harvard table for recreational use at the home and it came with these 1" foam paddings that surround the entire playing area of the foosball table. Every table I have played on before hasn't had these and they make the ball bounce in unpredictable ways. What are on the normal tables? I am wondering if I should just peel them off.

99% of the tables have a laminate over the top of MDF (wood).

I know what you're talking about. Normally tables have a thin plastic sidestrip that actually sits on the playfield surface next to the sidewall. Harvard has foam sidestrips that are attached to the sidewall as opposed to the playfield surface.

If you peel them off, the ball will get stuck to the sidewall alot during play. Yet another reason why Harvard tables are junk not to be bought.

I have seen the plastic strips, can those be purchased anywhere? I will get a picture up tonight.
