This was posted on a German board after someone found it on Rico's Facebook-site. I thought I should share it with you, especially because the great master keeps raving about American Foosball. Maybe some one might care to provide us with a translation?

Chaque discipline a son Champion...
Le football a Messi,
le tennis a Federer,
le babyfoot a Collignon !

Ce grand Champion universel,
devenu pratiquement invicible,
est surnommé l"extraterrestre",
tellement il domine sa discipline.

Frédéric se prête au "Jeu des Septs Questions" :


1/ Qui es tu ?

Je suis Frédéric Collignon,
j'habite à Liège en Belgique,
supporter du Standard.


2/ Pourquoi la compétition ?

Plus jeune , vers 6, 7 ans ,
je suivais mes parents le vendredi soir en tounois,
c'est ainsi que j'ai commencé à jouer,
ensuite j'ai commencé la compétition en 1991/92
avec une équipe appelait le "Kim".


3/ Où joues tu ?

Ces dernières années, j'ai joué dans le Limbourg
en Belgique avec le KMTV.


4/ Ta Table favorite ?

Je n'ai jamais eu de table favorite,
j'aime le jeu en lui-même avant tout et ce,
peu importe sur quelle table je joue.
En fait, la table n'a pas d'importance,
le jeu reste le même.
Il y a des points positifs et négatifs à retirer sur chaque table.

5/ Ton match référence ?

Trouver un match de référence n'est pas facile.

Je peux dire que la grande majorité de mes matchs
références se sont déroulés aux Etats-Unis
durant les Championnat du Monde sur Tornado.

Je pense que la compétition là-bas est de loin
la plus relevée et que le championnat du monde
sur Tornado est à mes yeux , le plus beau,
le plus grand et surtout le seul et unique.

Les meilleurs joueurs du monde sont américains
et les plus beaux tournois s'y trouvent aussi,


6/ Ton meilleur souvenir ?

Chaque Open "Double" gagné là-bas avec Todd
(mon partenaire) fait partie de mes meilleurs souvenirs.


7/ Un souhait ?

Je pense avoir définitivement arrêté le babyfoot,
je dis "je pense" car dans la vie on ne sait jamais,
mais j'en suis sûr à 90%.

Le fait de vouloir voir mon fils Kylian grandir et s'épanouir
dans les différents sports qu'il pratique,
est une des nombreuses raisons pour lesquelles
j'ai décidé d'arrêter.

Il y a aussi le fait que je ne pense pas qu il y avait
un meilleur moment pour le faire.
Je reviens des States avec le titre et s'arrêter ainsi
est ce que je pouvais espérer de mieux.

J'ai ainsi plus de temps pour la famille, le travail et moi-même.

J'ai assez passé de temps à jouer aux Baby et
malheureusement je ne vois pas vraiment un avenir
brillant pour ce jeu même si je dois reconnaitre que l'ITSF
fait du bon travail.
Mais l'ITSF devrait penser un peu plus , pour ne pas dire beaucoup plus, aux joueurs.
Si on veut motiver les jeunes à jouer, il faut qu'ils puissent
rêver de gagner quelque chose car l'honneur c'est magnifique mais cela ne suffit pas.

Donc si j'avais un souhait , c'est que les joueurs gagnent
enfin de l'argent grâce aux Babyfoot.
Ce n'est pas normal qu'un Champion du Monde "multitable"
ne gagne pas au moins 20000 euros.
Si on veut que le Babyfoot deviennent un sport reconnu et intéressant pour les jeunes,
il faudrait leur offrir au moins un petit rêve, et dans le monde actuel, ça passe par l'argent.

Si d'autres jeux comme le darts , billard et autres ...
arrivent à offrir de telles dotations, pourquoi pas le Babyfoot
qui a tant d'affiliés, passionnés ou personnes qui y ont joué?

Si mon souhait se réalise, un come back est envisageable.
