More first time table owner advice?
« on: February 16, 2013, 12:11:11 PM »
Hey Guys,
I wrote about a million dollar black top table and just checked it out.  Don't feel it's sturdy enough so I passed.  Any feedback regarding a ten year old Harvard table (oak) with stainless steel corner covers?  Is this a decent table for a newbie for $150?

No. Buy a name brand. Sportcraft, Harvard, and the like are just crappy tables. They don't last and don't play consistently. Even as a newbie you want something that will be fun to play on and will allow you to improve. You should be able to find a cheap home model Tornado for around $150 if that's all you are trying to spend.

I agree with alaskan thunder.

Not worth it if you are really interested in Foosball. For a little bit more you could get a used
Tornado, even a Twister or a Whirlwind would be better a storm is better than the other two and way better than any Harvard table. But if you could afford to pay around 500 you could get a Tornado coin op, or a Cyclone or Cyclone II tables.

Or you could also buy a Warrior for 600 plus shipping.

links removed. spam. sorry.

Harvard, Sportcraft, Carrom, DMI and basically anything you could get on Walmart, Costco, SEARS etc. are not worth your money.

Sage advice.
A small addition - if you live in the Carolinas/Virginia area you may want to consider Bonzini because there is a core of players in that area.

Where are you located?

I would love to own a Bonzini but they are just to expensive for me  :(

Maybe when I establish a league in my home town I will be able to get one  ;D
