Looking for a Table for Family/Home prefer 1 goalie

What would be a better option, buying an old used Coin-Op TS or a new Warrior Table?  I grew up playing the old TS tables and prefer the single goalie layout.  I owned a TS 20+ years ago and found a BlueTop $300 that probably needs some work/restoration.  While there is some pride and nostalgia associated w/ making this a project and ending up with a nice TS, I'm wondering if I just shouldn't buy something new and a bit "modern"?  The total "acquisition cost" is probably about the same.

For what it is worth, our two young boys got a cheap airhockey/foosball table for Christmas.  They love the Foosball and play it everyday, but it isn't going to last.  Despite being junk it has been a great introduction for the kids and rekindled my interest in the game!

Thanks in Advance,

Joe

Thanks SirFlair, I appreciate your opinion, even if it is biased.  I've only been researching this topic for about a week, and while I previously looked at 3 goalie tables in disgust, I got out and played on a few Tornado's this week with my boys.  While I still prefer single goalie, I realize it is purely a sentimental attachment.  Unfortunately I have't seen or played on a TS table now in at least 20 years, but I'm guessing ball control and speed are the biggest difference in the tables, largely due to the men/foot design.  I apologize if this is a complete "newb" comment to the audience here, and perhaps that is why there has been many views by only your comment.

Would I be to far of in saying the Warrior might strike the balance between the two?

Personal opinion, go Fireball! It's built stronger than a tornado with more control. I have mine on the way, can't wait. :) If you decide to go that route,Mike's contact info is <ponytail420@comcast.net>. He's been great through the whole ordering process. I went with a three man goalie, but he has one man as well if thats the route you prefer. Here's a link to some info on the tables, but the contact info on it's dead so don't bother.

The second link is a video about the table showing some design perks and the rod strength. (The owner actually supports himself on a single rod without any adverse effect.) The table is made with foosers in mind and facilitates more styles of play than tornados set shot style. I'm in no way downing tornado, the table thats held the floor for thirty plus years, I have one myself and until my fireball comes, itll be the best table I've ever owned. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I am watching paint dry waiting for my table to come(its supposed to ship out today) Regardless what you decide, welcome back and Foos On!

If it was strictly for me, I couldn't agree with you more.  However, when I took my 4 year old to play on the Tornado table, I hit him in the chest with the 3 man.  It was a gentle tap, but he said "ouch", and that was all it took.  While I certainly will enjoy this table, I'm hoping my kids will enjoy it more than me!  So I pulled the trigger on the Warrior today!

I would have liked to have ordered it here to support the site, but it isn't carried.  I did buy some accessories here though, and will continue to do so to support the site.  I think this forum and the advice given here are a great resource, and I really appreciate the folks that maintain it!

I'm pretty sure you can get rod guards  for tables other than warrior.  but if you pulled the trigger there's no pulling back the bullet.  from what I've heard,  warriors are great to play on,  just not built as strong.  the old " you get what you pay for adage.  Lol.  welcome  back to the sport/ game and I hope the new table rocks.  until a few months ago it probably wouldve  been better than any table I'd ever owned.  let everyone know.  when's it expected?
