moving an assembled table?
« on: January 18, 2014, 06:17:54 PM »
Hello folks,

I'm brand new to these forums.

I'm considering buying a used Tornado foosball table but I'm not sure how I'll transport it to my house.  I have a Toyota Sienna mini-van and I can take out the back seats.

Can an assembled table be safely transported as-is?  Or must I disassemble the legs?  Can I transport it upside down or standing up?

I haven't looked at the measurements of table size yet, any idea if an assembled table can even fit through a regular house door?

Many thanks!

If you take off the legs and rods, you can fit it in your car and through the door. Which Tornado?

Which Tornado?

I'll have to see what pops up on Craigslist I guess.

Other than making sure a used model is in good shape, I'm wondering if Adjustable legs are considered an absolute must have.

It will go in my basement which is pretty flat but surely no floor is perfectly flat.

Have you seen this thread? Good reading if you are thinking about a Tornado.

^^^^^^^That is a great thread with a TON of information. Don't fall prey to information overload. If the price is right and the table is in good condition go with your gut. Adjustable table legs are desirable as there is nothing more irritating than an unlevel table where the ball constantly rolls away from your man. Regarding moving the table do you have a friend with a pickup truck or a flatbed trailer. The upper portion of the table is easily removed from the lower IF ITS A COIN OP to help move in two sections but removing the rods will be a real chore. See if you can get someone to help with a vehicle or trailer that will fit the table as is.
