Pin squeeze shot

So, probably a really dumb question but here goes.

Question: Can you pin the ball on offensive 3bar, squeeze it to shoot(only seems to work with a cork ball) and have a legal shot?

No, its not my shot, but yes someone in our group uses it and others are asking if its legal. I can see as a pass it would not be legal but as a shot?
Its not a very effective shot but hey thats not the question.
Thanks in advance for any input.

It's a legal shot, but normally low percentage.  They're fun to play with, especially with cork balls once they get broken in enough to do masse shots.  You can do some nasty curves.  Their slow speed makes them easier to block if the goalie isn't totally surprised.  They can work better as a bank but still not a percentage shot.  I actually won a match last week with one on Tornado.

They are legal as a pass if it's from the goalie position (either rod) to the 3 row, but not to the 5 row.

Thanks papafoos.
You just made one persons day/year. Alternatively you squashed the hopes of a whole group of guys.
Me I cant wait to tell all of them.  The pass rule revision is some icing on the cake. Segway into that suggesting hope then crush it with the rule. lmao.
Thanks again.

I do this style of shot on a Bonzini with the yellow composite ITSF balls, and have found success in doing so.  You can generate a massive amount of speed when you do this correctly.

Using a typical iPhone, I estimate the speed of the ball to be around 15mph based on framerate and distance traveled.

While I'm not proficient on a Tornado, I've also shot this shot on a Tornado and it's much faster than the Bonzini.

Like any shot, it takes a lot of practice to get efficient with, but it's much less of a gimmick shot than those who do not shoot it would like to believe.
