I work in the billiard industry and have sold lots of different manufacturers....As a whole the billiard business atleast the in home sales ascpect is really struggling as a whole across the board and has been for almost 2 years now....3 years ago it was at its peak..never been better....But due to a lot of factors that I don't have enough space to discuss it has fallen drastically......In talking with one of my companies big wigs I ran by him the idea of our stores and company selling tornado tables.  Before I could even get into the reasons for us to sell them said hes suprised that the billiard division of Brunswick hadn't flopped already.....he wouldn't go into too much more but we did talk and he knew that Brunswick had moved most of their manufacturing facilities to Mexico and China which isn't a good sign.  Fortunately for my company we don't specialize in billiards alone...its actually a small part of our sales.   I'll quit blabbing but it scared me a bit to hear of the poor shape they are in right now....If I were a betting man I'd bet they will cut out several of their other divisions before they let their pool table division go under....It has been the backbone of their company for i think over a 100 years,.........

after the 2005-06 year a lot of companies including mine upgraded their facilities and then went under....the one I work for really had to make some major cuts to stay above water...they regret not planning or being prepared for the market slump....

I will say one thing for sure.  I have noticed a huge difference in the quality in the new (brunswick) tornado tables.  I have heard that every surface but the coin opp is made in china.  not good.  totally different.  I have played 2 different F5s both of which have dead walls.  I hope they get a reality check

the F5 home model is made in China and the F5 coin-op is still made in Texas. I have played on both and if you are thinking about getting a F5 home model, forget about it. The table is an absolute piece of *(&^ !!!  The surface is so messed up you cant pin a ball at all, setting up a snake it risky!
I still think that the grey marbles are the best tables that Tornado has put out EVER!!!!
