The Pinalzyer's Backpin deadbar pull side.

This was filmed by my left hand so you must understand that I had to keep looking in the camera's viewer to make certain it was still on the shot.  A little tough, but a real practice in concentration.  You can see that I also moved over the goalie 3 rod so that the cutback was not available.  I find the deadbar cut back extremely easy, but not effective that much in competition.

Sweet backpins, man. I like to do some too, but not as a setup dribbling shot like yours...mine more or less is a spur of the second shot if I happen to catch a loose ball on a backpin and see the goalie is being a little lazy in coverage I try to "one-time" it, either with the same middle man I've pinned with, or pin-over-pass it to the outside man with a slight cutback brush angle into the goal. My pullside pin only starts as a pin, sort of  like a pin reverse to the pushside then pull to the inside guy with either a wrist motion for finesse shooting (50% split) or an open-hand for a loud slammer. There is no way I could compete with a backpin alone but I like to sprinkle them in on the forward 3 bar to keep the goalie honest. On the Goalie 2-bar, I like to do backpins at least 30% of the time because it is easier for me to hit a split or go spray all the way back short while the goalie jumps to the long hole.

I only shot it from back for many years and a friend suggested I try it up front.  The first tourney I went to I took 2nd RK doubles and singles.  For singles the backpin from the back is deadly and when I get the power up it really works in doubles too, however my partners in the past like Rick Petro hated to see my shoot it from back so I stopped for a while.  It also works as a great pass to my forward.
I like the power part of the backpin, however I am old and don't have the guns to fire the ball in fast, so I use old age and guile.  I am truely lucky to have a shot like this that I can do with old arms.
Thanks for the kind words,

John
