okay, I am over it now...sorry everyone, thanks for letting me vent

I am deleting all these posts, they are inflamitory and unneeded

I am not doing anything to make foosball different and it is a very very young sport with no money so what should I expect

I wasn't playing for money anyway...I will let this all go, it is what it is and I won't expect more from the organizational side

I will pursue my goals which never had money attached

i am glad that Mary, Tornado, and ITSF does what they do, it is all foosball has

Re: Warrior and IFP bring you WHAT!? The Great $20,000 Rip Off?

Ok good...I was just going to ask if we're still on for MO states  ;)

Careful bb, we're not supposed to think too much about this or bring it up because there might be outrage. We play for the fun of it, the pride, the recognition, right?! heh. (sarcasm) Yes, I just ran the numbers too and it is just not right. MO states should be advertised as a 10 grander. Someone is gonna have to do some major explaining if I am to think it should be higher than that. The warrior tables cost probably around $200-300 at the most to build. Still, since these are new tables, you would think they would be given as promotional offers...not to be included with the purse. weak. Anyway, yea, I ran the numbers, she should pull about 100 package deals = average to about 17,000 - 100 reg fees = ave to about 4,250. This I think.... is a very conservative figure. It doesn't even include all the entrance fees for specialties.

So, how about that first place $300 for Am doubles huh. lol. wooohooo. It's disparaging. Considering the talent in that pool and the amount of work it takes to get there....see why I don't feel motivated enough to practice?! My buddy in MI said the same thing and think he just about quit after...he played his ass off in expert singles beating some tough players getting 4th place out of 100 players. You know how much he got? I don't recall exactly but it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-80 bucks. worth it? He didn't think so.

I would but man, I am feeling like a nap before the DYP tonight...if I even go. It was a long night last night....

We'll have to plan something for friday maybe or our usual on Saturday.

So, I hadn't added any of it all up, but it seems to me that if it's a $20,000 tournament, then there should be $20,000 in prize money.  I'm still going to go to it, as it will be my first tournament that is bigger than the local, weekly, dyp.  I sure wouldn't have thought that $20,000 meant anything less than $20,000 in prize money.  Something to think about I guess.

Hey I'm thinking of running a million dollar tournament.  $5,000  in cash,  a plastic trophy and T-shirts for the winners.   maybe I'll throw in a A 100% payback last chance DYP

Actually, World's Payout is higher than you stated.  When I added up the advertised payouts, I came up with $73,240 in Guaranteed cash, 6 tables, a bunch of trophies, a couple of package deals for future tournaments, jacket for the master singles champ, plaque for the team event, plus 100% payback in 5 additional events.  I'd say the advertised payout is pretty close.
Additionally, the top three finishers on open singles, the top 1 in Women's Singles and the top 1 in Junior singles each get about $1000 in travel expenses for the ITSF WOrld Championships in Nantes, France.
