Can someone give me an idea of the vintage of this Tournament Soccer table?

I picked this up off of Craigs List yesterday and am looking for information about it.

What year did TS do these brown playing fields?

Note: It has a single goalie

Thanks, John

It's a black-top, made nowadays by Suzo-Happ (often just called Happ).

In the 70's the playfield color of the TS tables went from green, to blue, to brown. These were the color changes during the actual ownership by Tournament Soccer (the company). TS folded in '81 of course, and since then the "Tournament Soccer" or "Million Dollar Game" name was sold (or otherwise transferred) to a variety of table manufacturers. For years (at least in the late 90's and early 00's), the name was held by Mazzco. But Mazzco got acquired by Happ, and the table you have is relatively recent, and made by Happ. I can tell by the bolt pattern on the cabinet, as well as the lines near the scoremarkers.

Edit : It's not the MOST recent version made by Happ, however. The clues are that the MOST recent version offered by Happ has :

1. Leg levelers underneath the legs

2. No ashtray hole near the score markers

3. Instead of metal plates around the rods on the inside of the cabinet, the newer Happ tables actually duplicate the plastic bearings on the inside of the cabinet (yes, for a total of 4 plastic bearings per rod)

I'd guess your table is just a few years old.

Thanks for the really quick reply!

I know this is not a Tornado, but how much would a replacement cost.  I bought it for my work for $75 off of Craig's List.

John

Believe it or not, the table can be bought brand new ... unassembled, in the box ... from the manufacturer for $189, not including shipping.

If you want a 1-man goalie, however, it only comes in a lighter oak color nowadays. The darker colors (like yours) have 3-man goalie rods.

This info is accurate, at least as of one month ago.

Hi, I'm new here.  I was actually looking for a site to see if I could find out how much my "old foosball" table is worth.....Bought it brand new, 1975, St. Louis Park, MN, $500.  It's a Mirco Classic
Championship Foosball table.  Being a girl, the only way to describe it is that the "box is brown wood grained vinyl covered particle board I'm sure", a description I found on this site on an old post.  It weighs a ton.  There are only two things wrong with it....my puppies (many years ago) chewed the outlayer off the bottom of the legs, just at the edge...three of the "players" broke (I still have them....my husband hoped to eventually get them repaired which I thought was impossible, but he kept them.  The new pieces are not the same, but they are detailed.  My husband is now ill, dementia, and I'm looking to sell it but I don't know it's value.  Also, since it's slightly damaged, I don't even know what it's worth.  I hope to be able to take pictures of it and put it on here so someone can help me.  I actually found an old 2007 post on this site that had a table that looks exactly like mine.

What color is your playing surface? The newer black-tops (perhaps all the black tops) don't use plastic ramps in the corners. The playfield is actually notched/grooved from underneath, and "bent" upwards to ramp the corners. The older TS tables used plastic ramps in the corners, as I recall.

when i first came back to fooseball after 20 plus years bought a
black top new for $ 900 plus freight no even close to the brown

side strips out and the goalie guards out lined with liquid nale and
re panted the goal black to match the top got tornado balls new
wood handles i tell ya it plays not to bad then played on a tornado
brown marble and was sold ended up buying a new gray marble
coin opp sold the black top to a friend for half the price the only
thing i miss about it is boy could i hit some banks on it .

Granny, i'm probably speaking for several us when I say that we're not ignoring you ... we just don't know the answer! My advice would be to find a way to post pictures, maybe somebody can give you an idea of value. Then start a for-sale thread, and even consider putting it up on ebay or craigs list.
