What is the pricing levels for used Tornado lately?
« on: June 26, 2009, 11:25:58 PM »
I am shopping for a table and I wonder what the market is like lately?  I am in the Colo Springs/Denver area.

Craigs list has a few tables but the coin operated Tornado are mostly above $1000.

Not sure I want to buy a table off Ebay, (sight unseen).

Any thoughts?

Personally I would never pay more than $600 for a used Tornado (including shipping). You should be able to find one in Denver for local pickup and save any $$ you would spend on shipping.

I found one that seems promising.  It is a Cyclone II that is 5 years old.  The Gentlemen is firm at $550

Any thoughts

The coin ops are all $1000

I bought a used cylcone II in January. Good condition. $500.00. It is a good practice table, especially since I had nothing for years. Now that I've had it a while, i notice the movement of the table on certain shots. It is about 100 lbs. lighter than a coin op model. Overall a good table to practice with. If the table is in really good condition, I would say its worth it. Otherwise wait, and you might catch a coin op on the cheap. I was at a tournament today and a guy who won a t-3000 in atlanta was selling his gray marble coin op for $400.00. I was going to buy it but someone beat me to the punch.

There's a second hand ("excellent condition") coin-op T2000 going for $900 CDN (firm).  Too much?
But I think I'd much rather have a lighter $500 Cyclone...

yes, too much...slow down, and we can find you the right table...take a step back and tell me first what you are willing to pay, top end, and does it have any wiggle room?  if it does, you haven't given me your top price

then, what city and state are you in - if it is a small city, what is the next big one close to you?

used coin-ops should range between $400-$750...pay anything over $750 and you bought too soon

not all the coin-ops are worth the same amount

look here for a price range and history on the coin-ops...I haven't updated this for a bit but it hasn't change enough yet for me to make any big changes

I just helped someone find a really nice Grey Marble for $700 and right now on eBay for sale from my neck fo the woods is a Blonde for $495 By It Now and offer available...shipping is too high but that can be worked around

Hey bbtuna

$900 CDN is about $775 USD so if kayko's prospect is in excellent condition, it isn't too far off your advised range - (just thought you may have missed the "CDN" part)

i did miss that, but still, $775 is definately top of range for a Grey Marble so it is important to make sure you are getting a near perfect one for that much...

assuming the table is in good shape, a little negociation and he is good to go

Sorry off camping on vacation.  thanks for the link and the offer to help

I have found a few coin ops in Denver one is 700, 850, 1000 and 1395.  the 700 table ad is a stock photo with some mention of a real pic on the way so I am unsure if this is real.

I found a nice Cyclone II for 550 that I liked.  it seemed in good shape so that one is in the running.

Is $400 unreasonable for the Cyclone II?  I like to grab a nice coin op for $500 but that seem remote.  Lastly, do these tables have model numbers/names or serial numbers?  How do I tell a cyclone from a storm from a twister?

Thanks for the help.
