Small chip repair on a T-2000
« on: February 06, 2010, 02:49:57 AM »
We have a couple of small chips in our Grey Marble T-2000 table top. Debbie mentioned that this forum would be the place to ask "What's the best option for table top repair?"

I have tried to match with acrylic paint and use a razor blade to level, but its not perfect because sanding the table is not an option.

Any input is appreciated,

Thanks

Hey Paul no-body wants to take a stab at this one!! LOL. I am guessing you best fix would be to buy a new playing surface for $250.00 and after you got that ~smokin~ deal on the Grey Coin-Op time to invest again..Hows the Stick Pass going? Any progress on the Rollover yet? Maybe Tuna will chime in this chip issue and give some thoughts. Hey Charles you out there?

well, i have never heard, read, seen a repair done on the surface...maybe Mark Murrell has some ideas but nothing will bring it back to new regardless...if it isn't impacting play or getting larger like a pot hole, i would just live with it

replacing the surface i understand is no easy thing to do (doable, just not easy) and the surface is pretty darned expensive...Snake said $250 but you can get them from Charles Mac for $150...in either case, you have to by new side strips at $26

Mark definately knows how to replace top...I might even be able to find a post i know covered that once on the other board but i won't hunt unless you go that route...

Snake,

I guess no-one damages their table tops. To be honest, the two chips in the table top don't affect the play. It was more asthetics. I was looking for ideas on a possible "color match" acyrlic. We are working very hard on stick passes and our snakes, especially after getting schooled at Little Italy the other night. ;)

Thanks bbtuna, but it is not bad enough to replace the top. I have looked at the top from Tornado for 150.00 plus strips as an option, but if the playablity of the table is not affected, and it looks to be an expensive and difficult undertaking. If I do go that direction and can't pull the replacement procedure with a search, I will be pinging your knowledge base.

Thanks again guys,

Paul
