Vintage rene pierre foosball table
« on: March 23, 2010, 02:15:17 PM »
I am selling a Rene Pierre foosball table.  Mid 70's?  maybe earlier.  The coin slot is missing.  I contacted a company that specializes in replacing these parts.  They believe that the model is an original design.  They have a little younger design, but not one that is at our vintage.  It won't be replaced very easily.  But, it is in good condition.  Metal men, green top, wooden (not press board), split cabinet design.  Was wondering what it would be worth?
Thank you!

Does it have 14 mm or 15mm rods?
The early models were 15mm.
Who is the company that specializes in replacing these parts?
The reason I ask is that we constantly receive calls from RP owners looking for assitance in maintaining their tables.

I see RP tables at game auctions that go for $200-$400.00 depending on condition.

i will check my size.  i appreciate the info.

I was referred to a company called Brady Distributing based in Charlotte, NC.  Their number is 704-357-6284.  I spoke to the parts department.  The person I spoke with seemed very knowledgeable.  But, of course, if you told me that foosball was an ancient Native American custom to prepare for war, I would probably smile and say something brilliant like "Wow!".  Then, I would run home and do some research.  But, he talked about the different coin slots there were available for the Rene Pierre during the early to mid 70's.  He does have a style that is more modern that what I need.  He seems to believe that I have an "original" according to the size of the opening for the coin slot which, of course, makes it more obscure.  He did say he had some mid 70's coin slots.  So, I hope that helps you.

Early RP tables used a pull coin chute. After that, they all used a standard ESD pushchutes.
I'm familiar with Brady's also.
