2010 VA State Foosball Championships
« on: June 01, 2010, 08:51:31 PM »
Greetings,

I am forced to make some changes to the 2010 VA State Foosball Championships this year due to an injury I suffered sometime prior, during, or after the Texas Pete Twin City Foosball Invitational. My doctor discovered 2 ruptured disc in my lower back which will require rest first and possibly surgery next. We will need to modify the events and duration for this tournament so that we can keep the 27 year tradition intact and for me to recover in time to host a great NC State Foosball Championship.

I have spoken with Gio about these changes and we both feel comfortable and positive about the new schedule (same dates). I recently spoke with a contingency of players from SC that is also committed to attending and supporting this event. Please take time to review the attached poster. I like the format and structure for this 2-day event which will give the players plenty of competition for a good price.

What will be different from years past at this tournament?

*We will only have 4-5 tournament tables available. 2 of those will be B-60 models with ITSF upgrades from local sources.
* Players that would like to donate there upgraded B-90’s for this event need to contact me ASAP and it would be greatly appreciated.
*I will need support in setting up the tournament room. I cannot chance bringing the trailer. I will have my 2 best B-90 tables loaded in the Suburban.
*I will supply all of the temporary lighting, prize packages, trophies and PA equipment. And yes $$$.
*The tournament will still be ran our tournament software.
*For the VA residents, I will need your help to keep your foosball heritage string alive (27 years).
*We still need table sponsorships to hopefully offer the Shenandoah House some sort of assistance. I will try to modify the sponsorship form ASAP.
Please contact me via e-mail if you are able to assist with the table and lighting set-up. This has been a very frustrating 2 weeks with limited mobility but hopefully I can recover quickly and keep our tournaments rolling along. We received a ton of positive feedback about the Texas Pete Invitational and I appreciate the players that helped support and participate in that event.
We will need 35-40 players to attend for this event to meet its expense estimates, so please recruit your local player base to support the 2010 VA State Foosball State Championships. Our goal is to have fun, play some great foosball and enjoy the hospitality of Byers Street Bistro, the Shenandoah Valley Foosball Association and Bonzini U.S.A.

            Thanks for the support.

            Alan
