Removing Grey Marble Coin Op Tornado Legs - Urgent
« on: July 17, 2010, 09:33:15 AM »
I'm picking up a grey marble coin op Tornado tomorrow. From everything I've read there should be a relatively easy way to remove the legs. When I asked the seller to tell me how the legs were attached he responded, "As far as the legs. They seemed to be permanently secured to the top of the table." In a follow up e-mail he went on with, "Also, after looking at the legs more closely, it seems that you can unscrew thefts from within the cabinet that is locked." The seller also doesn't have a key for the locked table.

So....how do I remove the legs? Does the locked cabinet affect the removal at all? If anyone were to post close-up pictures of how the legs are attached, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You need the key to be able to get into the cabinet.  To remove the nuts, you'll need a socket set.

Check with some of the players in your area to see if any of them have a key to help you or call a locksmith.  You can also order new keys, but I'm not sure how to tell which one you need.

If you don't know any local players, let us know what part of the country you're in and maybe someone here can point you to someone who can help.

Ok, so the nuts are only accessible from inside the (unlocked) cabinet?

I found a forum member that said they would send me a key but of course that would take a few days.

if you know anyone who owns a Tor coin op any year, their key will work...or if thats not an option you could ask a local bar if you could borrow a key, otherwise you will have to find a way to transport it whole which can be done in the back of a pick up truck, just make sure you strap it down real good
