how to best add weight to tornado
« on: March 04, 2006, 12:44:22 AM »
I wanna add more weight to my Cyclone II that I just bought.  I would just like to get some tips from people who have done this.  Also It is not yet completly level, I was gonna level it before I added weight because of course I was worried it would then be too heavy to level easily, but I wonder how much the added weight would affect the levelness of the table assuming I distributed weight evenly.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i dont know about cyclones, but on tornado tables there is an extra nut on each foot. you screw the foot in then screw the extra nut up as far as you can. i just found out about this 2 weeks ago and did it. it made a world of difference. if you can do it with a cyclone then id suggest it. another way is to put sandbags in or under the table. tornados have ledges under them, but once again i dont know if cyclones do. hope this helps.

A Cyclone is a model of Tornado.  It's they're 2nd-highest home model (below T2000 and above Storm, with Twister at the bottom).

You can put weight above the legs on the cyclone, or run a 2x4 between them if you want more room.

I have a cyclont II and I added weight to it by going down to my local home depot and buying three pieces of 3/4 inch particle board and a couple of metal brackets. I cut the boards to fit under my table and just attached the boards with a few screws, worked great and you can't even tell that they are there. It added about 55-60 pounds, you could add more if you wanted to. The boards only cost about $7.00 each for a 24x48 inch piece.
