PLEASE HELP IDENTIFY
« on: July 12, 2006, 02:32:51 PM »
Hi all, I'm new to the forum and am looking for some help. I've found a table that seems to be a good deal but have no idea what model it is, I've searched and searched but haven't been able to visually match this table to any others. I'm supposed to check it out in person tonight. The asking price is $75... thoughts? Thanks in advance for the help! I've attached a pic and have a few more if they would help.

The table looks solid and in good shape. $75.00? Hell yes, even if you get bored with it you can use it for a conversation piece. Not sure on the brand. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies guys. I checked out the table tonight. Its in great shape. The rods need to be greased but its nothing big. I'm almost positive it is a Carrom, and closest to this one http://carrom.com/product.asp?dept_id=31&product_id=10 , however, the biggest problem is that it is not flat and it is a one goalie set up. I've been keeping my eye open for a deal on a table for a while and this seems to be a good one. But I'm not sure how I feel about the ramped corners. Does anyone play on these anymore? I'm just trying to get back into foos and would appreciate any feedback.

I also found this Halex nearby for $50. But I can't find this model on any sites to compare.

Thanks guys!

I have to completely honest here, IMO there is only one table to buy if you are wanting to improve your skills and be somewhat competitive. Buy a Tornado, Even if it's a less expensive Whirlwind which i started off playing on in our old apartment, they have no ramped corners and are really fast and can prepare you for bar models. After you get comforatable with it maybe sell and move up to a used Coin-Op. By this time you will have the feel of the Tornado which after playing on them you will appreciate when you have to play on some broken down lower grade table. I picked up my Coin-Op for $500.00 and we have played at least 5000-6000 games on it, all i had to do was replace bearings and some new rods ( these tables are meant to last a lifetime so look at it like an investment) I am positive i can turn and get my money back tommorrow on my own Tornado. I hope this helps. Ask me any more questions I would be glad to help you out locating one.
