Hey Everyone! Just joined on the site although Ive been lurking around for a while.

Recently picked up my first foosball table of my own. Its a Patterson Foosball Match table with all original parts except the coin mechanism, scoring pieces, and original paper that went under the glass top. I stripped it down entirely, cleaned it up, and now im enjoying it. The glass top surface is the original textured top..its definitely a different style of play. Im thinking of replacing the top with a more modern surface and just safe keeping the original top for collectible reasons.

Im in search of the coin mechanism (the ball drop and parts inside are still there), which Im sure is a long shot. In the mean time, I may just buy push shoot mechanism and rig it up to work.

Its a solid table and Im pretty excited about it for my first.

This is the brand table I learned to play on.  It used cork balls and game was to six.  The men are slightly flexible.  It cost two dimes to play.  I don't remember the handles looking like that.  They may not be original.  Of course, it's been a couple of years (about 40) since I've seen one.  When I played this style table, I could usually adjust to about any table.  Once I started on the Texas style tables I couldn't go back.  As for the coin mech, you'll probably have to find a parts table which may be nearly impossible.

Good eye, the handles I had to replace. I have most of the original handles but they are in horrible shape. Most were cracked all the way through and taped back together.

Its been interesting playing on it the last couple weeks. I bought cork balls as suggestion on here as well as a few other varieties. Cork is very different. I like it..but I cant get used to the lack of noise!! Funny as it sounds..

Ill keep my eye out for a parts table or mechanism. Definitely not holding my breath.

interesting texture on the glass but I wouldn't change a thing. whats the inside of the cabinet look like and what do you mean by paper under the glass? looks good for an old coin op.nice!

The playfield is actually a poster underneath the glass.  Before Tornado went to the formica top (about 1981), it and most other tables used the poster underneath the glass.  Rene Pierre and Bonzini didn't have glass so they didn't use the poster playfield.

On foosball match, I think there were about three different glass surfaces.  One was the wavy one in this picture.  They also had one with wire imbedded in the glass and textured on one side.  Another was without the wire, textured on one side and smooth on the other.  You could flip the glass on all of them if you preferred the smooth side.

Are you still looking for the coin mech parts? I have the main slide mech and swing arm available. I know its a long shot since this thread has been around a while... Just thought I'd ask.
