Purchasing Advice
« on: June 18, 2016, 12:35:17 AM »
Been looking around and alerts on Craigslist for a few months waiting on a used coin op. This one turned up - first coin op within reasonable striking distance for me in WA state. Can't tell what model/year and looking for any advice. There is also a Twister II for 200$ which seems like a great deal (but NOT a coin op!) Any help would be appreciated.

I've always heard that Tornado tables bring a premium price in the northwest.  Looks like they're right.  I like the way the blondes play.  They're slightly faster than the newer tables.

Try to find some players in Portland or Seattle who may be able to help you locate one.  Rocky Willson was a vendor around Seattle.  He may have tables available.  Brad Laurine (Portland I think) may be able to help you find one.  Brad posts on here sometimes.

Whoa, that is a high price. Maybe that's the going rate in your neck of the woods but I think you could get a slightly used T3000 for not much more (although shipping is an issue). As papafoos said that's a Blonde coin-op, which - according to the link below - were built from 1997-2001.

NW coins go for 600 to 1400...but slow to pop up and fast to go...600s need upgrades or repairs

Thanks for all this. Couldn't track down  Rocky Wilson, and it seems like Brad Laurine is affiliated with Fireball tables.  I could get a tournament used T-3000 sent here for 1500$ plus 300$ shipping - a bit more than comfortable -  otherwise I'll just wait. I used to have a Cyclone, and although a good table, I really wanted a coin op for likely my last table. Sounds like I'll likely have to pay a little more here, and this is fine. My budget is 750-900$ and hoping this is enough to get me a decent table.

Goals have been repaired with some stainless steal around the sides. Will this effect play/diminish value/last over time?

I have to believe it would affect the play. I'd pass on this one. Blown-out goals are usually cited as a deal killer.
