Help picking up a foosball table
« on: July 25, 2017, 01:20:20 AM »
I am a foosball newbie and need help picking up a good table for myself. I want a good table on which I can practice all the shots. Reading everything on these forums, I am leaning towards picking either a used Tornado or a new Warrior Table. The best deal that I can get on a Warrior is $649 shipped. I also found a few tornado listings in my area. I need help in deciding if any of these listings are good deals for Tornado tables, and if I should pick one of these over a new Warrior table:

Another question that I had was around disassembling the Tornado tables for pickup. I have a 7-seat SUV and I think I might have to disassemble the table (atleast the legs and pull out the player rods). Are these Tornado tables easy to disassemble and then assemble back?

Offer 800 on the T3000! I would by that right now for 1k in a second if it was in my area.  I personally was lucky enough to find a  Brown Marble on craigslist in my area for 100 bucks, but it was in rough shape.  I replaced all the rods, (300 bucks) new bearings and bumpers (50 bucks) , about 1/2 the men (60 bucks) and new style play field strips.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong on disassembly as I have only done it a few times...and I cannot comment on the home model but assume it is similar except for that I do not think it opens up.

First, you will want to have a hammer and the pin removal tool and bearing wrench with you.  You can get the pin for like 5 bucks and bearing wrench for like 8 or 10.

The table is very heavy so you want to split it into as many pieces as possible.  Don't make the mistake of trying to save a little time and damaging the table or a rod.

First take all the handles off the rods.  Next, and someone please confirm this step for me as I am going from memory.  Take the pin out of the man on the rod side of each rod and slide it against the inside man.  next, take the bearings off and you will be able to pull the rod in towards the handle side, popping the rod out of the opposite end and in turn allowing you to pull it out of the handle side.  (repeat for each rod)

Next, open up the table and take the nut off of the hinges with at least 1 person helping you and you can slide the top part of the table off of the bottom part and set it aside.

Take everything you can out of the bottom piece of the table table, coin box, wood/ball guide thing, etc.
Next, with someone helping making sure the table does not fall, use an impact gun and socket wrench or socket wrench to take the nuts off of each leg.  my T2000 had 2 big, nuts on each leg and a threaded bolt permanently fixed into each leg. Lift the bottom of the table off the legs with someone helping to make sure the legs do not fall, damage the floor or get scratched, etc.

Thanks Jordan for the response and great advice. Unfortunately, the T 3000 is not available anymore. Do you think cyclone 2 is a good deal for $600?

I'll chime in, I'm a weekly tournament player and other than the T3000 that you said sold there really isn't anything there worth the money. I'd keep looking, try to find a brown marble coin-op.

My 2 cents
